We are in Catalonia, in a 16th century farmhouse north of Barcelona, 50 minutes from Perpignan, 40 minutes from Girona and its airport, with direct flights from all over Europe, and a few minutes from the beach by bike! My maternal great-grandfather was the Rothschild family’s pastry chef in Sologne… I’ve kept several of his extraordinary cookbooks – they’re over 100 years old – as well as his favourite knife!
